Dave Jones is a fully trained farrier specialists, qualified with a Dip W.C.F Distinction with the Associate of the Worshipful Company of Farriers (AWCF). As a result, we can provide expert advice in all areas of the equine anatomy and hoof care.

Therapeutic, Corrective & REMEDIAL FARRIER

Remedial and corrective farriery is an important element of the orthopaedic service we provide. Our therapeutic approach ensures that each horse or pony receives individual treatment tailored to their conformation and shoeing requirements.

TRADITIONAL AND MODERN FARRIER SKILLS

In carrying out our high quality services, we combines traditional farrier skills with modern techniques and technologies to ensure a high quality service.

DAVE JONES A.W.C.F

West Wales Farrier is owned by Dave Jones. Born and bred in West Wales, Dave has had a passion for horse all his life. He started his pre farrier training in Hereford when he was 16 years old and then got an Apprenticeship in West Wales where he has worked ever since.

He achieved his Dip W.C.F distinction in 2006, and feeling there was so much more to learn started working for Jim Blurton and team – a 2005 World Champion Farrier and Worldwide Professional Farrier and Haydn Price who was the Olympic Team Farrier at the time. In these roles he gained valuable skills and experience, and an understanding which fuelled his ambition to compete in Farriery competitions, attend numerous lectures and seminars, and work with different farriers to gain further experience.
